1993 Calder Conservation Award:
Richard Spencer & Edward Kfoury
Two land trust leaders struck a delicate balance between conservation and
economic interests, when they protected the natural beauty of 10,000 acres
of forest reserve in the Rangeley Lakes region of western Maine. For this
remarkable accomplishment, Richard Spencer of Portland and Edward Kfoury
of Oquossoc, Maine, were honored with the 1993 Calder Conservation Award.
